I loved everything about this bed and breakfast! My boyfriend was beyond nervous about driving his car from Georgia to New York for our visit. Staying in Manhattan would have been difficult to find affordable and safe parking. Staten Island and the Harbor House Bed and Breakfast was the solution. We had peace of mind being able to see our car secure at night and when we woke up. And it was free! The owner greeted me with helpful advice and a tour through the surprisingly large home. The two door system and personal room keys added to my feeling of security and comfort as a guest. We had a private bathroom and a fridge in our room that we got to enjoy to ourselves. And when we looked out of our window we got to see the beautiful Manhattan skyline and hear the sounds of the waves hitting the shore. It was about a ten minute Lyft ride to the Staten Island Ferry which is also free and follows a convenient schedule going back and forth to Manhattan. The breakfast served at the Harbor House featured fresh bagels, fruit, cereal, yogurt, coffee, juices, etc. I was more than pleased but if nothing there sparks your interest there is an amazing local bagel shop right around the corner. Lastly, when I announced my surprise engagement to the owner I felt like I was telling a friend. I was touched by the congratulations and happy wishes that were extended to us. We will definitely be back!

The location was easily accessible by public transit or by car. The ferry ride to Manhattan was great. The house and rooms themselves are quite nice, good value for money, and the host is very easy going. I enjoyed the view of the sunrise over the Hudson River illuminating the skyscrapers every morning, and the multiple ships in the water. I would definitely stay here again

Beautiful little bed and breakfast right on the harbor in staten island. When we got there we were upgraded to a queen room rather than a full room free of charge. The view right outside of the bnb is beautiful, you can see the entire manhattan sky line from it. Great to sit outside with some coffee to relax. Parking was easy, just parking outside, and there was a lot to do within driving distance. Whenever i’m going to be back in staten island, i’m for sure going to book here.

I absolutely loved my stay at Harbor House and 100% recommend. There’s no better way to start the day than with the delicious breakfast and coffee that was served, eaten outside on the balcony overlooking the water and the Manhattan …

I was treated with such kindness by my hosts that as a single “older” bucket list traveler, I must applaud Harbour House!

Although I did not get to stay for breakfast, I had a great one night stay here. The caretaker was incredibly kind and upgraded my room free of charge upon arrival. Although there is only street parking, there was ample availability. The room itself was very clean and had a stunning view of the harbor and city. I slept with the windows open and got to listen to the waves crash against the shore all night! For the price, location, and customer service, I would absolutely stay again.

Stayed here over a decade ago and I've been appreciating the view of the city skyline from our room ever since.

I stayed at the Harbor House Bed and Breakfast a few nights ago. I am a woman and was traveling alone. The hotel is located conveniently at the end of Hylan Blvd. on Staten Island, across from the historical Alice Austen House and a few minute walk from the s51 bus stop on Hylan Blvd. and Bay Street. When I got to the hotel I noticed right away that is was very quaint and old-fashioned, it reminded me a lot of the inside of the Conference House as the rooms are furnished and looked like they have not been touched since the 1700s-1800s-very early 1900s which adds to the mystique and very hard to find today old-world charm. At first I was supposed to be in a king room with a shared bathroom that I had booked through an online site. When I got to the room I noticed there was no physical lock on the door, you had to pull it shut and it locked on its own. When I expressed my concern about this to the owner he was very understanding and was extremely friendly and more than accommodating. He promptly moved me to another room which appeared to be a suite, which included a lock on the door, it had its own bathroom and even had its own sitting area where I could look out the window at breathtaking views of the Manhattan skyline and the Verrazano Bridge on both sides. The Bed and Breakfast also includes breakfast in the morning, if for whatever reason guests do not want the breakfast they can be refunded $10 by the manager. I have included pictures from the view from my room. I had a good nights sleep, a very comfortable stay and beautiful views to make it a once in a lifetime experience and memory. Would definitely recommend, especially to celebrate for a special occasion with a loved one or to experience a historical adventure whether you are coming from far or are close to home.

A hidden gem on Staten Island. Beautiful views of lower Manhattan and the Verrazzano bridge. Well run, charming little BnB which is a great value and convenient to bus stops on Hylan and also Bay. Bus to ferry (Manhattan via the Staten Island Ferry) or anywhere on Staten Island or Brooklyn. I'd definitely prefer staying here than overpriced hotels over in Brooklyn or Queens.
